2020 Conference

Third Annual Conference – March 29, 2020

Contemporary Issues for Multi-Disciplinary Collaborations is the theme of the 2020 conference set for March 29, 2020 in Claremore, Oklahoma. The location in 2020 will be the Dr. Carolyn Taylor Center on the campus of Rogers State University.

Society for HIgher Education interdisciplinary Learning and Discovery (SHIELD) is a non-profit state organization, whose main purpose is to provide a yearly low-cost regional conference for educators, students, and related individuals to conduct scholarly activity through professional presentations and publications through an open source journal.

The regional conference will accept presentations from all disciplines which includes professional talks (Powerpoint/Prezi presentations and the like), poster presentations, round tables, and where applicable artistic displays, and musical performance opportunities.

Registration/Membership

There are two membership categories including “professional,” which applies to faculty, staff, administration and other professionals, and “Student,” which includes learners at all levels from undergraduate to graduate. To register to attend the conference, please click here and become a member.

Donations

As a non-profit organization, SHIELD is always seeking donations to continue to bring educators, students, and related individuals a high quality yet affordable conference experience.  As such, donations of ANY size are always appreciated.  Go to the home page for the link to be able to donate.  We appreciate your generosity!

Donations go directly to help fund the SHIELD conference and journal.  Donations will be used to: 1) support student research by funding awards for their scholarly activities, 2) keep membership/conference fees the lowest in the state of Oklahoma, at $25 for faculty and other professionals and $15 for ALL levels of students, 3) create community service and volunteer opportunities.  Become an agent of change, and donate to SHIELD!

Presentations

Research Presentations:  presentations are designed to share findings of a current or ongoing research activity, historical reviews, and innovative topics of all kinds.  Each participant will make their presentation in a 15-20 minute format including a question and a 5 minute questions and answer period.
